Why the wrong choice costs more than the price difference

The HandlerKraft floor cleaning range starts at 4,900 MDL for a manual industrial sweeper and goes up to 224,900 MDL for the largest ride-on scrubber — a difference of more than 45× for equipment that, at first glance, seems to do the same job. The real difference isn't quality, but fit with the area you clean every day. A 150 m² shop doesn't need a 477 kg ride-on machine, just as a warehouse of several thousand square metres can't be cleaned efficiently with an 18.5 kg walk-behind scrubber.

This guide walks through the entire HandlerKraft range — sweeper, walk-behind scrubbers, a self-propelled scrubber and ride-on scrubbers — with real specifications and prices, so you choose correctly the first time.

The industrial sweeper: dry cleaning, not scrubbing

Before the scrubbers themselves, it's worth mentioning the S920 Industrial Sweeper — technically a different machine, but often confused with an entry-level scrubber. The S920 is pushed by hand, has no battery or power supply, and collects dust and dry debris in a 25-litre hopper, covering up to 3,600 m²/h thanks to its 1,000 mm working brush.

  • S920 Industrial Sweeper — cleaning width 1,000 mm, 25 L hopper, productivity 3,600 m²/h, weight 20 kg — 4,900 MDL
Keep in mind

A sweeper doesn't wash. It's useful before wet cleaning, to quickly remove dust and large debris from big areas, but it doesn't replace a scrubber where you need to degrease or disinfect the floor.

Walk-behind scrubbers: the best sellers, for small and medium areas

Walk-behind scrubbers (with a pedestrian operator) are pushed by the operator, with no traction motor — the effort of moving the machine stays with the operator, but the brush and suction are motorised. They are the most compact and affordable machines in the range, suited to shops, offices, hotels, clinics and medium-traffic spaces.

  • NB100 — 425 mm brush, productivity 800 m²/h, tanks 4/6 L, lithium battery 36V/12Ah, only 18.5 kg — 25,800 MDL
  • NB380 — 380 mm brush, productivity 1,140 m²/h, tanks 10/10 L, lead-acid battery 24V/32Ah, 58.5 kg without battery — 20,400 MDL
  • NB460 — 460 mm brush, tanks 25/25 L, lithium battery 24V/100Ah, 54 kg without battery — 39,800 MDL
  • NB530 — 530 mm brush, productivity 1,800 m²/h, tanks 50/50 L, lead-acid battery 2×12V/100Ah, 4 hours runtime, 89 kg without battery — 45,400 MDL
  • BDX-XH1 — 540 mm brush, productivity 2,600 m²/h, tanks 55/66 L, lead-acid battery 24V/100Ah, 4 hours runtime, 145 kg without battery — 49,000 MDL

The self-propelled scrubber: no more pushing

The ND530 is the only model in the range with its own traction motor (550W) — the machine drives itself in the working direction and the operator only guides it, without physically pushing 100 kg of equipment for an entire shift. A 530 mm brush, 840 mm squeegee and 24V/100Ah lithium battery complete a machine designed for medium-to-large areas where operator fatigue with a walk-behind would become a real problem.

  • ND530 — 530 mm brush, 840 mm squeegee, 550W traction motor, tanks 50/50 L, lithium battery 24V/100Ah, 100 kg without battery — 39,800 MDL

Ride-on scrubbers: industrial capacity for large areas

Ride-on scrubbers have a platform or seat for the operator and their own traction motor — they are the reference equipment for hypermarkets, production halls, logistics warehouses and airports, where the area to clean is measured in thousands of square metres per shift.

  • NR530 — 530 mm brush, productivity 3,100 m²/h, tanks 70/70 L, lead-acid battery 2×12V/100Ah, 4 hours runtime, 120 kg without battery — 64,900 MDL
  • NR810 — twin 410 mm brush system, productivity 4,860 m²/h, tanks 120/120 L, lead-acid battery 4×6V/200Ah, 4 hours runtime, 330 kg — 124,100 MDL
  • NR1060 — twin 530 mm brush system, productivity 6,890 m²/h, tanks 200/210 L, lead-acid battery 6×6V/200Ah (36V), 6 hours runtime, 477 kg — 224,900 MDL

Lead-acid or lithium: which battery to choose

Three models in the range (NB100, NB460, ND530) use lithium batteries; the rest use classic lead-acid. The difference isn't only price, but how they behave in daily use:

Criterion Lead-acid Lithium (Li-ion)
Charging time 6–8 hours 2–3 hours
Memory effect Yes — needs full discharge No
Machine weight Higher 15–30% lower
Maintenance Periodic electrolyte level checks Maintenance-free
Purchase price Lower Higher
Best for Single shift, limited budget Two shifts, sites without a dedicated charging room

How to choose in 3 steps

  1. Step 1 — Calculate the area you clean daily. Under 500 m²: sweeper for dust + small walk-behind (NB100/NB380). 500–2,000 m²: large walk-behind (NB530/BDX-XH1) or the self-propelled ND530. Over 2,000 m²: ride-on scrubber.
  2. Step 2 — Check the width of aisles and doorways. A ride-on machine 1.4–1.8 m wide won't fit through standard doors or shop aisles — for narrow spaces with shelving or furniture, stay with a walk-behind, regardless of total area.
  3. Step 3 — Work out how many hours a day the machine runs. Under 2 hours/day, one shift: lead-acid is enough. Intensive use or two shifts without dedicated charging time: lithium, for fast charging between shifts.

Real scenarios

Shop or showroom, 100–300 m²: daily cleaning, one employee who also handles other tasks. Recommendation: NB100 or NB380 — light, inexpensive, enough to cover the daily area in an hour or less.

Supermarket or production hall, 500–1,500 m²: daily cleaning of a large area, dedicated staff. Recommendation: NB530, BDX-XH1 or ND530 — 1,800–2,600 m²/h productivity, enough to cover the space in one shift without excessive effort.

Hypermarket, logistics warehouse or airport, over 3,000 m²: daily cleaning of very large areas, wide aisles, intensive schedule. Recommendation: NR810 or NR1060 — the only machines in the range able to cover several thousand square metres in a reasonable time.

Conclusion

There is no “universal” floor scrubber — there's the machine that fits your floor area, aisles and cleaning schedule. The HandlerKraft range covers the whole spectrum, from the 4,900 MDL sweeper for a small shop to the 224,900 MDL ride-on for a hypermarket or logistics warehouse. The advice we give customers most often: don't buy on the price tag, buy on the square metres you actually clean every day.
